We are a small friendly junior choir based in central London at the Catholic church of SS Anselm & Caecilia in Holborn.

We sing each week at the 10am Mass on Sundays, as well as on certain feast-days, and Saturday Benedictions.

St Anselm & St Caecilia has a fine musical history, reaching back to the 18th century, and including musicians like Thomas Arne, writer of 'Rule, Britannia' and Vincent Novello.

We aim to bring this history alive today by introducing the wonderful music of the Catholic repertoire, from Gregorian  chant through to Latin motets and masses, to both boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 16, giving them a musical training of the highest standard.

We sing each week at the 10am Mass on Sundays, as well as on certain feast-days, and Saturday Benedictions.

We have also given concerts and made two recordings in recent years.

All choir-members commit to a weekly practice on Fridays, and the more advanced singers become Cantors, which indicates a higher level of attainment and commitment, and usually involves taking the Grade 3 singing examination of the Associated Board.

You do not have to be a Catholic to be a member, but it is vital to enter into the spirit of the Catholic faith and liturgy.
